The Faculty of Education at USAL seeks to prepare qualified educational professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to practice the teaching profession effectively. The Faculty of Education at USAL was established to prepare and qualify students at the undergraduate level, as well as graduates holding a bachelor’s degree, to enter the teaching profession. The faculty’s programs are designed according to standards of quality, accreditation, and excellence that the job market requires, ensuring that the goals, competencies, and outcomes of the specializations are based on essential educational knowledge, as well as the attitudes and skills needed by teachers in light of contemporary requirements and international standards for the teaching profession.

Students in the faculty gain direct field experience in education at some of the most prominent Lebanese schools and undergo practical field training as part of their specialization courses, under the guidance and supervision of specialized academic professors.

The university grants students holding a high school diploma or its equivalent a Bachelor’s degree in Education for the first and second cycles in the following specializations:

• Special Education
• Early Childhood Education
• Physical and Sports Education
• Arabic Language and Children’s Literature
• English Language and Children’s Literature
• STEM – Sciences, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
• Teaching Diploma

The faculty also qualifies graduates holding a bachelor’s degree in Arabic, English, Mathematics, Sciences, and Social Sciences to obtain a Diploma in Education.

• The Lebanese Baccalaureate certificate or its equivalent.
• Pass the placement tests in the following subjects:
  • Informatics
  • Arabic Language
  • One of the following: English or French
• Pass the placement test in subjects determined by the faculty according to the specializations.
• Register in remedial courses if they do not pass the placement tests.
• Pass an admission test if registering for the Physical Education specialization.
• Register in the bridging courses required by the Ministry if holding a Technical Baccalaureate certificate, which are:
  • Social Sciences (3 credits)
  • Philosophy and Psychology (3 credits)

Achieving successfully 100-103 credits depending on the enrolled program as follows:

Obtaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 over

• Three years for non-transfer students holding an official Lebanese Baccalaureate degree, after passing the placement tests in English, Arabic, and Information Technology.
• Between three and three and a half years for non-transfer students holding an official Lebanese Baccalaureate II degree, who require some remedial courses in English, Arabic, and Information Technology.
• The duration of study for transfer students is determined based on the number of transferred credits.
