Board of trustees
USAL is overseen by an independent Board of Trustees, composed of 11 members who are specialists, experts, and distinguished figures in the community. The fundamental purpose of the Board is to support the university's independence, raise its standing, growth, and prosperity, so that it can fulfill its mission and achieve its objectives.
The University's Board of Trustees plays a pivotal role in the governance and management of the university. It is the highest authority, with the power to approve the university's strategic plan, policies, and systems. It is responsible for appointing the university president, vice presidents, and deans of the faculties. The Board also makes important decisions related to the university's academic, financial, and administrative aspects, and approves the recommendations put forward by the University Council within the framework of the adopted regulations and bylaws.
USAL carries a mission that can be summarized in the values of commitment to social responsibility, activating dialogue and citizenship, accepting cultural diversity, and enhancing effective communication. Therefore, we have decided to direct all our academic programs, including services and accompanying activities, towards rooting and empowering this noble mission.
On behalf of the USAL Board of Trustees, I welcome you all and wish you a rich academic experience and a unique academic vision that forms a bright future outlook. I would like to point out that the Board, through the academic and administrative staff, aspires to achieve further accomplishments and effective results with a direct and constructive impact on the renaissance of the nation, as well as a purposeful contribution to the development of the scientific, intellectual, and humanitarian system at the local and global levels.
We believe that higher education must be a gateway to knowledge, innovation, and personal development. Our mission is to ensure that our university provides a distinguished educational experience that encourages students to reach their full potential in an environment that promotes critical thinking, scientific research, and community service.
In conclusion, I would like to thank all the students, graduates, academics, and administrators, as well as all those who have contributed to establishing the foundations of this university, hoping that everyone will have an authentic experience within its walls and a scientific life full of success and excellence.
