The University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon – USAL is not only a distinguished place for study but also a vibrant environment conducive to the flourishing of talents and the development of skills. Establishing a Club

The university encourages its students to take the initiative to establish clubs that reflect their interests and passions, provided that each club has at least five members. To form a club, interested students should visit the Student Affairs Office and submit a club establishment request using the following form: University Club Establishment Request.

Al-Solta Al-0ula

This is a club founded by students in the Media Department that focuses on covering university activities and organizing media-related events. The club has worked to build relationships with media clubs, including the Media Club at the American University of Beirut.

To be the driving force in creating an innovative and inspiring media environment that contributes to developing students’ media skills, enhances the exchange of ideas and information, and supports achieving academic and community excellence through modern media and communication channels.

The club aims to hold seminars and workshops related to media, host prominent guests in the media field and beyond, to strengthen internal and external relationships for students and the university. The club also seeks to build relationships with student clubs at other universities to enhance opportunities for outreach. The club revives occasions by organizing internal recreational and artistic activities and provides media coverage for university activities and other clubs.

Mic Matters

Mic Matters is a university club dedicated to producing and filming short podcast episodes inside the university’s studio. The club aims to establish a modern student media platform that keeps pace with developments in digital media. It seeks to provide a structured space for students to express their opinions, discuss academic and societal issues, and highlight success stories and inspiring experiences from within and beyond the university, within a professional and responsible media framework.

Mic Matters aspires to become an active university platform in the field of podcasting and digital media, contributing to the promotion of success stories and positive role models, reflecting students’ voices and interests, and preparing qualified student talents capable of integrating into the media job market with competence and professionalism.

The mission of Mic Matters is to produce meaningful podcast content centered on sharing real success stories and authentic experiences from inside and outside the university, with the aim of inspiring students and motivating them academically and professionally. The club also seeks to empower students—particularly media students—by enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge through the development of skills in audio presentation, content preparation and editing, recording and post-production, as well as media publishing and digital marketing, within a supportive educational environment based on teamwork and professional commitment.

Kalim

This club organizes cultural activities, such as book discussions and meetings with authors and renowned librarians.

To have a comprehensive club at the university for various cultural activities, primarily focused on reading and the pursuit of cultural development and expansion.

To foster a love of reading among students, enrich their cultural knowledge, create a reading community at the university, establish the book’s importance for students, develop communication and critical thinking skills, enhance literary creativity, and cultivate various cultural aspects among club members.

Debate

The University Debate Club is a vibrant intellectual platform aimed at developing students’ critical thinking and effective communication skills. The club empowers its members to analyze complex issues, construct evidence-based arguments, and master the art of persuasion in a dynamic, competitive setting. It fosters constructive dialogue and the exchange of diverse ideas, contributing to a richer intellectual and analytical culture among students.

To become a leading center for developing critical thinking and persuasive skills, serving as a platform that promotes calm, productive debate and helps shape leaders who think analytically and engage actively in society.

At the Debate Club, we strive to help students enhance their skills in effective communication and critical thinking through live and varied debate practices. Through rational discussions and respectful dialogue, we support our members in understanding complex issues and expressing their views logically and persuasively—empowering them to make informed decisions and contribute meaningfully to society.

This club was founded by students of Computer Science and aims to guide and mentor students regarding the various paths in the department: programming, data science, and network and computer security. It has launched the “Byte Banter Podcast,” which features inspiring success stories and personal experiences in this field. Club members have conducted interactive workshops to raise awareness about cybersecurity among students in some schools, as well as achieving second place in a competition held by zaka.ai.

This club was established by students in Special Education at the Faculty of Education and organizes activities related to special education.
