USAL's Library
The library is a fundamental structure in the educational process, housing various information sources, both electronic and print (books, references, periodicals, e-books, scientifiic articles, etc.). It is equipped with an electronic system that facilitates the research process, along with computers and internet service.
The university library is considered important for several reasons:
- Provides Information Resources:
The university library offers a wide range of books, scientific journals, theses, and academic research. These resources also include electronic databases that provide access to specialized articles and scientific studies. - Supports Scientific Research:
The library facilitates scientific research by providing the necessary tools and resources for researchers. It also offers services such as interlibrary loans, database searches, and assistance with citation writing and formatting. - Enhances Independent Learning:
The library provides a suitable environment for independent study, where students can access resources and study in a quiet and conducive atmosphere. - Offers Information Services:
The library provides various services, including guidance on using databases, training students in academic research, and helping them find suitable sources. - Provides Digital Resources: The library allows access to a wide range of e-books, digital journals, and online databases, making it easy to access information from anywhere at any time.


Library Services
All current students, graduates, faculty members, researchers, and university staff benefit from the library’s services, which include:
- Providing a suitable environment for reading, research, and study.
- An internal lending system.
- An external lending system.
- Internet access on computers available in the library.
- Copying various references.
- Organizing workshops and cultural seminars within the library.
Lending System:
Students can borrow materials from the library under the following conditions:
- A student is allowed to borrow two books at the same time.
- A student can borrow a book for two weeks and may renew the loan period at least two days before it expires.
- Students can reserve borrowed materials with the librarian, who will specify the pickup time.
- Students must maintain the borrowed material and return it in the same condition it was received; writing on it, folding pages, using sticky notes, or causing any other damage is not permitted.
- Students will be charged for any damage to the borrowed book.
- A student who borrows material for use on campus must return it on the same day before the library closes.
- If a student is more than 72 hours late in returning materials, a financial penalty will be imposed for each day overdue.
- Students are allowed to copy or scan no more than 10% of the total pages of a book and 30% of the total pages of journals and magazines.
- Students may use the computers in the library to search the electronic catalog or browse electronic libraries.
The student can visit the university on any day of the academic year, and will always find its employees available to answer any inquiries and ready to assist in determining the student’s options regarding their academic future. In addition, the university organizes a series of special days to guide and direct students in a way that allows them to become familiar with various aspects of university life, such as the orientation days at the beginning of the academic term and the open days, as well as its participation in various guidance fairs.
