The University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon (USAL) – Faculty of Education organized a distinctive student activity as part of the Field Training course in the Physical Education program, under the theme “Learning from Reality… From Student to Student.” The event brought together a group of students with notable field experience in various sports, aiming to share their inspiring journeys and foster experiential learning through live and interactive demonstrations.
The sessions included technical presentations and hands-on applications, covering three different sports:
Archery
Student Jihad Toukan presented the rules of the game and fundamental techniques of this ancient Olympic sport. He also discussed the main challenges athletes face and provided a live demonstration of the equipment used.
Tennis
Student Mohammad Awada delivered an engaging explanation of tennis techniques and skills, while also sharing insights from his personal training experience. The session featured an interactive training class in which students participated with great enthusiasm.
Muay Thai
Student Ali Fakih introduced the Thai martial art of Muay Thai, sharing his experience as both a player and a coach. He highlighted the sport’s foundational principles, especially those related to fitness and mental discipline.
The event also featured Rasha Hassan, a member of the University Committee for Muay Thai, who shed light on the role of women in combat sports and the challenges she has faced throughout her athletic journey, delivering an inspiring message that resonated with the audience.
This initiative reflects the Physical Education program’s commitment to promoting applied learning and bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world experience, in order to prepare future educators capable of making a meaningful impact both inside and outside the classroom.
