Organizational Structure

USAL is managed by a number of councils that are formed in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations, to establish a sound management system that ensures the realization of its vision and the achievement of the objectives for which it was established.

An independent Board of Trustees, composed of 11 members who are specialists, experts, and prominent figures in the community, oversees USAL.

The Board of Trustees is the highest authority in the university. It approves the university's strategic plan, policies, and regulations, and is responsible for appointing the president, vice presidents, and deans of the faculties. It also makes important decisions related to the academic, financial, and administrative aspects of the university, and approves the recommendations submitted by the University Council within the framework of the adopted rules and regulations.

The University Council is composed of the university president, his/her deputies, and the deans of the colleges. It is responsible for defining the university's general vision, formulating its policies and strategic plan, as well as overseeing its academic, research, and administrative affairs. It also enhances student life, scientific research, and partnerships and relations with academic, economic, governmental, and non-governmental institutions

ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

The Vice President for Academic Affairs is a key partner in the university's long-term strategic planning and academic planning in particular. They are responsible for ensuring that the university's vision, mission, and strategic plan are fulfilled in all academic affairs. They also ensure that academic programs meet quality standards and align with the needs of students and internal and external stakeholders. The Vice President for Academic Affairs also oversees a number of administrative offices related to academic work such as registration, examinations, the library, and academic budgets.

The faculties at the university are managed through councils chaired by deans, with department heads as members. The faculty council is responsible for defining its vision and mission, and overseeing their fulfillment. It also oversees matters related to curricula, programs, and assessment systems, as well as the development of existing programs and the establishment of new ones.

Department councils are composed of the department head and the faculty members of the department. They are responsible for managing and developing academic programs, monitoring student achievement assessment, and overseeing the proper implementation of plans and the academic advising process in the department.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL AFFAIRS

The Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs oversees the relevant operations at the University, such as development and quality assurance, human resources, accounting and finance, digital media, communication, information technology, and archiving. They are also responsible for overseeing the financial operations. They are concerned with developing the institution in terms of establishing systems and policies, and ensuring compliance with them, in addition to managing the automation of all the University's systems and procedures to facilitate the administrative work. The Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs is also responsible for maintaining the safety and integrity of the University's buildings, facilities, and infrastructure, and for their development operations.

STUDENT AFFAIRS

The Vice President for Student Affairs is responsible for creating an attractive university environment and stimulating student programs that address the non-academic life of the student, by overseeing the preparation and implementation of programs related to student affairs in the following areas: general student affairs (scholarships, student council, student employment, cooperative training, disciplinary issues and disciplinary procedures, students with special needs, etc.), student activities, psychological and social counseling, career counseling, and alumni affairs.
