The Special Education Club Organizes a Guidance Workshop Titled: “Post-Graduation Horizons: Graduate Studies and Career Pathways in Education”

As part of its ongoing efforts to address the academic and professional aspirations of students, the Special Education Club at the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon -USALorganized a workshop titled: “Post-Graduation Horizons: Graduate Studies and Career Pathways in Education.” The event brought together a large number of students from the Faculty of Education, spanning various academic levels, in an engaging and interactive atmosphere.

The workshop was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Education at USAL, Dr. Walid Hammoud, who drew on his extensive academic and professional experience to present the diverse pathways available to education graduates. These include pursuing graduate studies, entering the educational job market in both public and private sectors, and engaging in innovative educational and developmental initiatives that align with contemporary educational transformations.

Dr. Hammoud highlighted the current challenges facing the educational field in Lebanon and the region. He stressed the importance of structured preparation to meet these challenges through the development of personal and professional skills, critical thinking, and embracing lifelong learning opportunities. He also explained the differences between research-based and applied master’s programs, as well as potential specializations students may pursue based on their interests and future plans.

The discussion with students focused on how to identify personal and professional goals and plan for the next phase of their journey, emphasizing the importance of balancing ambition with realistic capabilities. He also encouraged students to make full use of the university’s resources and academic advising services in shaping their professional future.

The workshop provided students with a valuable opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and reflect on their aspirations—demonstrating the Faculty of Education’s commitment to empowering its students and equipping them with the tools necessary to make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
