The University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon -USAL, represented by its Department of Physical Education and Sports, participated in a scientific seminar organized by the Lebanese University as part of Lebanon’s Sports Week, under the theme “Athletes’ Mental Health During Wartime.” The seminar was held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Lebanese University Central Administration, under the patronage and in the presence of Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Nora Bayrakdarian.
The seminar addressed several scientific topics, most notably the role of physical education and sports in supporting recovery and a safe return to school after war, as well as psychological aspects related to athletes’ resilience and their ability to adapt in the post-war period.
USAL’s participation through the Department of Physical Education and Sports reflects the University’s commitment to engaging with scientific and professional issues related to sports and mental health, while promoting the participation of faculty members and students in specialized activities and seminars. Such engagement contributes to knowledge exchange and development, while connecting academic perspectives with the challenges faced by the sports community.
