USAL Board Appoints Professor Dr. Nasri Harb as University President

The Board of Trustees of the  University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon -USAL has appointed Professor Dr. Nasri Harb as President of the University, to lead its academic and educational journey and continue the vision and noble path established by the former university president, the late Martyr Dr. Sayyed Mohammad Reda Fadlallah (may he rest in peace).

This appointment comes in recognition of Dr. Harb’s distinguished academic and administrative career, as well as his active role in the university’s development. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQÀM), Canada, in 2001, following a Master’s degree from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor’s degree from the Lebanese University in the same discipline.

Dr. Harb began his academic career at the United Arab Emirates University in 2000, where he advanced to the rank of Associate Professor in 2008.

He joined USAL in 2013 as the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Finance, and Economics, contributing alongside the late Martyr Dr. Mohammad Reda Fadlallah to the establishment and development of the university’s faculties and curricula. In 2019, he was appointed Vice President for Student Affairs, and he attained the rank of Full Professor in 2023.

In terms of research, Dr. Harb possesses a rich portfolio of scientific publications in applied economics, Middle Eastern economies, economic growth, and monetary policy. He has published numerous research papers in peer-reviewed international journals, received research grants for several field studies, and actively participated in academic committees and the peer review of international scientific journals.

Through this appointment, the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon -USAL reaffirms its unwavering commitment to upholding the legacy and mission of the late President, continuing to elevate the university toward new horizons of academic excellence and societal empowerment under the leadership of Professor Dr. Nasri Harb and the Board of Trustees
