USAL Student Qusai Al-Okla Discovers Critical Security Vulnerability in a Global System

Qusai Al-Okla, a Computer Science student at the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon-USAL, has achieved a remarkable milestone in the field of cybersecurity by successfully discovering a critical security vulnerability in one of Comelit Group’s global systems.

The severity of this vulnerability lies in its nature as an Authentication Bypass, one of the most dangerous types of security flaws, which could allow attackers to gain full administrative privileges, take control of the system, and make sensitive changes to data and configurations.

Qusai responsibly reported the vulnerability in line with responsible disclosure policies, and the company’s security team expressed its appreciation for his efforts, confirming that work is underway to fix the issue and that a patch will be released in the upcoming update.

This achievement highlights the competence of USAL students and the level of hands-on training they receive in modern technologies, reflecting their ability to contribute to strengthening digital security on a global scale
