USAL’s Rawan Herchi Ranks 8th in Asian Debating Championship

Distinguished student Rawan Herchi, from the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon (USAL), achieved an outstanding academic and national milestone by securing 8th place in the Asian Debating Championship, recently held in the Sultanate of Oman.

The championship witnessed high levels of competition, featuring 40 educational institutions (universities and colleges) from 18 Asian countries, with a total of 145 debaters participating. USAL University proudly represented Lebanon in this prestigious continental event, with its team comprising students Ruaa Sharafeddine, Heba Dhaini, Rawan Herchi, and Hadi Saleh.

Commenting on the achievement, Malak Harkous, Director of the Communication Office at USAL and head of the university delegation to Muscat, stated: “We are extremely proud of this accomplishment by our student Rawan Harche. Her ranking eighth among all these institutions and countries across Asia is clear evidence of the high quality of education at our university and the exceptional competence of our students, who continue to represent Lebanon with excellence on the international stage.”

She added: “This victory reaffirms the importance of debating and constructive dialogue skills in shaping students’ personalities, enhancing their critical thinking abilities, and improving their capacity to express opinions clearly—values that USAL consistently strives to instill in its students.”
