TheUniversity of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon -USAL is proud to announce a remarkable achievement by its student, Qusay Al-Akla, in the field of cybersecurity, after discovering a critical security vulnerability in the platform of the Spanish airline Vueling, one of the largest airlines in Europe.
Qusay’s discovery came after in-depth analysis and meticulous information gathering, which revealed that the vulnerability could allow access to sensitive user data, including personal information, booking details, payment data, and even information related to flight tickets.
The student promptly reported the vulnerability to the company’s cybersecurity team, leading to its immediate confirmation and closure to ensure the protection and confidentiality of user data.
In official recognition of his efforts, the company added Qusay Al-Akla to its global hall of honor, ranking him 7th worldwide.
This achievement reflects the high competence of USAL students and reinforces the university’s commitment to supporting promising talents in technology and cybersecurity.
