As part of its efforts to strengthen institutional relations and activate local partnerships, a delegation from the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon -USAL visited the Municipality of Bourj Al-Barajneh. The delegation included Dr. Ahmad Fadlallah, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Nasri Harb, Vice President for Student Affairs; Dr. Yasser Fadlallah, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs and Ms. Malak Harkous, Director of the Communications Office.
The delegation was received by the Mayor, Engineer Mostafa Harb, in the presence of Deputy Mayor Mr. Hassan Al-Sabea, Head of the Educational Committee Mr. Hassan Ammar, Municipal Member Mr. Mohammad Jaber, and Head of the Communications Committee Mr. Rabih Salim.
The university delegation congratulated the mayor and municipal council on assuming their new responsibilities, wishing them success in serving the town’s residents. They also expressed their appreciation for the mayor’s participation in the university’s recent graduation ceremony, emphasizing that this presence reflects the spirit of collaboration between the two institutions.
The meeting addressed the importance of enhancing joint efforts and engaging in local development issues. Several proposals were discussed to strengthen the relationship between the university and the municipality, particularly in areas such as practical training programs, community service, and organizing joint activities that reinforce the university’s presence in the local fabric.
Both parties affirmed the need to activate educational, cultural, and social partnerships and to benefit from the university’s academic and logistical capabilities in supporting municipal initiatives, especially those focused on youth, education, and empowering young talents.
The university delegation also expressed its readiness to explore new avenues of cooperation in applied research, and awareness workshops—reflecting USAL’s commitment to its community mission and its active role in the sustainable development of the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Mayor of Bourj Al-Barajneh presented a letter of appreciation to the university delegation in recognition of their visit and USAL’s leading role in serving the local community and its continuous efforts to promote collaboration and institutional synergy.
