Imad Marmal Shares His Media Journey with USAL Students

As part of the Specialized Journalism course under the supervision of Dr. Hawraa Houmani, the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon (USAL) hosted journalist Imad Marmal, a media figure at Al-Manar TV and Al-Joumhouria newspaper. He shared his experiences in both print and broadcast journalism in Lebanon, focusing on the field of political journalism.

Through reflections on his early days in renowned Lebanese newspapers and his journey into the world of media spotlight, Marmal emphasized the importance of determination, perseverance, and patience in this demanding profession. He also stressed the need for continuous self-development and the cultivation of a trustworthy professional network.

During the session, he answered students’ questions about the challenges of the profession and how to navigate various difficult situations. The host of the program “Hadith Al-Saa’a” (Talk of the Hour) also highlighted the enduring strengths of traditional media outlets—such as television and newspapers—over social media platforms, regardless of how famous a person may become on them, noting that traditional media still grants a greater sense of legitimacy.
