As part of its ongoing efforts to promote mental well-being among its students and to foster a healthy and balanced university environment, th University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon- USAL organized a series of activities on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, reflecting the university’s commitment to nurturing a well-rounded individual on both the academic and psychological levels.
The events began with an interactive activity titled “Welcoming Hearts”, organized in collaboration with the Health Authority, featuring a variety of interactive stations designed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health, encourage positive expression, promote effective communication, and strengthen mutual support within the university community. The activity provided a space for human connection and emotional interaction among students, faculty, and administrative staff.
The university also witnessed the launch of the “Wajd” Student Club, a new student-led initiative dedicated to mental health awareness. The club aims to promote psychological well-being among university youth and organize regular activities that address the psychological and social challenges faced by students during their academic journey. The launch represents the culmination of joint efforts between students and the institution to make mental health support an essential part of university life at USAL.
As part of the events, a discussion session was also held under the title “Dialogues on Mental Health: Issues of University Youth”, during which participants addressed key mental health challenges faced by university students, such as academic pressure, time management, social adaptation, and feelings of anxiety and depression. The speakers emphasized the importance of seeking help when needed and integrating mental health awareness into daily university life.
The activities concluded with the university’s announcement of the launch of psychological counseling services for its students, providing support and guidance — a step that reflects USAL’s firm commitment to enhancing mental health as a vital component of university life quality and a key pillar of students’ academic and personal success.
Through these initiatives, the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon-USAL reaffirms its continuous dedication to building a supportive educational and human environment that contributes to preparing a balanced generation capable of facing challenges with confidence, awareness, and responsibility.
