USAL Partners with Amel International to Enhance Community and Sustainability


The University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon -USAL signed a cooperation agreement with Amel International on September 30, 2025, aiming to strengthen community partnerships, develop joint charitable and developmental initiatives, and exchange expertise in the fields of developmental and charitable work.

The signing ceremony was attended on behalf of Amel by Executive Director Dr. Ahmad Abboud, Project Coordinator Ms. Rahma Abbas, and Field Coordinator Ms. Miran Ja’ana. Representing USAL were President Dr. Mohamed Reda Fadlallah, Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Nasri Harb, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs Dr. Yasser Fadlallah, and Director of the Communication Office Ms. Malak Harkous.

The scope of cooperation between the two parties includes several strategic objectives, most notably:

  • Enhancing joint efforts to serve the community through sustainable development programs and initiatives.
  • Supporting needy students through scholarships.
  • Raising community awareness and developing skills via workshops and training programs.
  • Providing volunteer opportunities for university students to promote charitable and social work.
  • Offering scholarships to the institution’s staff to support their academic and professional development.

The agreement also provides for the exchange of expertise, and the organization of charitable initiatives and events that actively involve students and faculty in serving the community, fostering a spirit of volunteering and initiative, and developing their practical and social skills.

The agreement comes into effect from the date of signing for one year, with automatic renewal, and includes provisions for periodic review to improve and develop its terms in line with the objectives of both parties.

This partnership reflects USAL’s commitment to serving the local community, developing students’ skills, and contributing to building a knowledgeable society capable of facing challenges and supporting sustainable development.
