USAL Student Rawan Harshi Selected as Judge for International Debate Championship

The University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon (USAL) is proud to announce the selection of Rawan Harshi, a student from the Media Department, to serve as an accredited judge at the 7th International Schools Debate Championship — a recognition of her excellence and competence in the field of debate.

Rawan was chosen for this prestigious role following a series of successful participations in various debate events, where she demonstrated a high level of critical thinking, impartiality, and the ability to evaluate debating teams according to the highest national standards.

The International Debate Championship is one of the most prominent youth platforms, aimed at promoting a culture of constructive dialogue and enhancing students’ communication and persuasion skills across the globe.

Rawan’s participation reflects USAL’s commitment to empowering its students and enabling them to represent the university on international stages. It also underscores the importance of preparing a generation of youth capable of making a positive impact in their communities through dialogue and critical thought.

It’s worth noting that Rawan was a member of USAL’s debate team in last year’s International Universities Debate Championship in Qatar, where the team achieved second place overall, and she was awarded Third Best Speaker of the tournament.

We wish Rawan the best of luck in this new endeavor and have full confidence in her ability to rise to the occasion.
