Workshop at USAL titled “Digital Media: The Future of Professions and the Path to Excellence”

In a step to broaden the horizons of media students in the digital age, the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon (USAL) organized a workshop titled “Digital Media: The Future of Professions and the Path to Excellence”, under the supervision of faculty member Dr. Moussa Dirani.

The workshop, which attracted students from the fields of Digital Media, Radio and Television, and Public Relations, shed light on the fundamental transformations taking place in the media sector amid the technological revolution, with a particular focus on the requirements of the Lebanese and regional job markets.

The main discussion points during the workshop included several key topics, most notably the shift from traditional to digital media, the tools of artificial intelligence and their impact on content creation, the map of emerging jobs in the digital field, in addition to the professional and technical skills needed to stand out in the field.

The workshop also highlighted several new challenges and opportunities, particularly the rising demand for digital media specialists in Lebanon and the region. It emphasized the importance of combining technical and creative skills, as well as maintaining professional ethics in the face of the field’s growing challenges.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Dr. Dirani affirmed that “Digital media has become an inevitable necessity rather than a choice, with increasing reliance on digital platforms across all sectors,” noting that “students need to develop multiple skills, including digital analysis, content management, and the use of AI tools in order to stay competitive.”
