A number of students and faculty members from the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon -USAL participated in the “Women in Data Science (WiDS)” conference hosted by the American University of Beirut (AUB), which brought together a wide range of experts, academics, and professionals in the fields of technology, data, and digital transformation.
The conference aimed to highlight the importance of data science in building a smarter and more sustainable future and to shed light on the vital role of women in this dynamic field, which serves as a cornerstone for decision-making, innovation management, and sustainable development.
For USAL students, this participation provided a unique opportunity to explore the latest global trends in data analysis and its applications in areas such as education, healthcare, economics, and technology. They were also inspired by the experiences of pioneering women who have made a remarkable impact in this ever-evolving sector.
The conference also served as a platform for communication and knowledge exchange with speakers and participants, fostering students’ initiative and motivation to further explore the field of data science — in line with the university’s vision to empower its students to keep pace with digital advancements and prepare a generation capable of actively contributing to a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future.
