USAL Participates in National SEL Policy Consultation

University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon (USAL) participated in the national consultative meeting on the development of the National Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Policy for Children in Lebanon, bringing together representatives from higher education institutions and key stakeholders in the education sector.

The University was represented by Dr. Moustapha Fortunato, Dr. Mariam Hmaydan, and Dr. Houda Faour, who contributed to discussions on the preliminary findings of the national field study and shared academic insights and professional perspectives on the proposed framework for the National Social and Emotional Learning Policy, including its vision, strategic priorities, and key pillars.

The meeting was organized by World Learning in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) and the Center for Educational Research and Development (CERD), aiming to support the development of a national policy that promotes children’s social and emotional learning skills, enhances learning experiences, and fosters safe, inclusive, and supportive educational environments across Lebanon.

Through this participation, USAL reaffirms its commitment to contributing to national initiatives that advance education, promote children’s well-being, and support the development of a more inclusive and sustainable learning community.
